TEXT II

The TEXT II series riffs on the Text Cutouts and Text Photograph works, marrying words and phrases I have collected over time. A kid in the 90s, our classrooms were filled with laminated inspirational posters tacked to a cork-board covered door, pleading us to be “inspired” or “motivated.” A generation that was promised whatever they wanted, sometimes it feels like the only thing we have are our words. And a couple participation awards. The works focus on color relationships, contrasted with hand drawn floral elements, and the play of watercolor and gouache washes on paper.
